NEGACC Team
Our physicians are among the best-trained medical and radiation oncologists anywhere. Their credentials include the nation’s leading NCI (National Cancer Institute) Comprehensive Cancer Centers, universities and major military hospitals. NEGACC doctors also enjoy support from our ongoing relationships with renowned physicians at many top cancer centers, which enables us to provide the most advanced cancer therapies to all our Northeast Georgia patients.
The best practices model used by the country’s highest-ranked cancer centers coordinates medical and radiation oncology treatments within one organization. This is called Coordination of Care. It’s our model, too. That means our medical and radiation physicians constantly talk with each other, with experts around the country and with patients’ referring physicians about the treatments and medical needs.
Medical research clearly shows the type of Coordination of Care we provide improves outcomes and reduces risks for all patients.
Learn more about our physicians on our Medical Oncologists and Radiation Oncologists pages.
NEGACC Staff
In addition to NEGACC physicians, patients will meet with our experienced mid-level professionals such as nurse practitioners (NPs) and physician assistants (PAs). They are trained to diagnose and manage unusual occurrences and chronic illnesses during your treatment. Our dedicated staff also includes specially trained oncology certified nurses (OCNs) and RNs, licensed practical nurses, social workers and, of course, our office staff.
Learn more about our mid-level professionals on our Mid-Level Professionals page.
The NEGACC radiation team includes radiation oncology physicians, an expert medical physicist to maintain the equipment, a dosimeterist to calculate the radiation doses at various points of the body, and radiation therapists who administer the proper radiation dose as prescribed by the physician.
Appointments may rotate between the physician and a mid-level professional who always has access to the physician.
