Narendra K. Shah, M.D.

Narendra K. Shah, M.D. is board certified in therapeutic radiology. He brings international excellence to NEGACC patients with his skills and knowledge from more than 45 years as a radiation oncologist. Educated in India at the Gujerat College in Ellisbridge, Ahmedabad, India and the B.J. Medical College in Asarwa, Ahmedabad India, he spent one year in internal medicine and then in radiology at the V.S. Hospital & KEM Post Graduate School in Ahmedabad. He then worked at Hammersmith Hospital in London, and Velindre Hospital in Cardiff South Wales, UK, in DMRT and FRCR. He is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Radiology and the Royal Society of Medicine, both in London. He came to the United States in 1970 to join the staff at Roswell Park Memorial Hospital in Buffalo, NY, where he also was a member of the faculty at the State University of New York- Buffalo. In 1975, Dr. Shah moved to southwest Georgia, before settling in Athens in 1979. He joined NEGACC in 2005 with the group’s merger of radiation and medical oncology. His publications include research on hyperbaric oxygen in radiotherapy, analyses of head and neck tumors, and perspectives in treating pediatric sarcomas and lymphomas and have been published in prominent international journals including British Journal of Radiology, Clinical Radiology, Cancer, Obstetrics and Gynecology and in proceedings from ASCO, International Cancer Congress, and the International Congress of Radiology. Dr. Shah serves on the medical staff at Athens Regional Medical Center, St. Mary’s Healthcare System, Walton County Medical Center in Monroe, Cobb Memorial Hospital in Royston, BJC Medical center in Commerce, and Columbia Barrow Medical Center in Winder. He holds memberships in the American Society of Therapeutic Radiology and Oncology, American Society of Clinical Oncology, American Society of Hematology, Medical Association of Georgia, Georgia Society of Clinical Oncology, and the Crawford W. Long Society.
