Neal Marrano, M.D.

Neal N. Marrano, M.D. is board certified in oncology and hematology. He joined NEGACC in 1996 following a fellowship in hematology and oncology at Emory University during which he received an American Cancer Society clinical oncology fellowship and a secondary appointment as associate in medicine in the Emory University School of Medicine. A Magna Cum laude graduate of Brown University where he was elected to Phi Beta Kappa, Dr. Marrano earned his M.D. degree from Duke University School of Medicine and currently is a faculty member at the Medical College of Georgia. He did his internal medicine training at Georgetown University in Washington, DC. He has published on Gallbladder cancer in The American Journal of the Medical Sciences. His earlier research on cutaneous leishmaniasis in rural Costa Rica was published in the Transactions of the Royal Society of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene. Dr. Marrano’s patients say they appreciate his thoughtfulness, candor, concern, and quiet sense of humor. An attending physician at Athens Regional Medical Center, St. Mary’s Healthcare System, and consulting physician at Cobb Memorial Hospital in Royston, Elbert Memorial Hospital in Elberton, and Hart County Hospital in Hartwell, he also is a member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology, American Society of Hematology, Georgia Society of Clinical Oncology and Medical Association of Georgia.
